With the next RICS AssocRICS submission window approaching, candidates should now be checking that their assessment requirements are complete and that they understand what needs to happen during the submission period.

For the current UK assessment cycle, the submission window runs from 30 September to 8 October 2026, with submissions closing at 4:00 pm on 8 October. Candidates should always check the latest information provided by RICS and their own RICS Assessment Platform, as assessment processes and requirements can change.

Completing your submission is part of the assessment

One area that candidates sometimes overlook is what happens during the submission window itself.

Even if you have completed all of the work stages you have been working through during your preparation, you should still log into the RICS Assessment Platform during the submission window and check whether there is a further work stage or action that you need to complete.

This is particularly important because the assessment platform is where RICS manages the submission process. Candidates should not assume that completing their preparation work automatically means that their submission has been successfully sent.

Our advice to candidates is simple:

  • Log into your RICS Assessment Platform when the submission window opens.

  • Check carefully for any additional work stage or action.

  • Complete everything that the platform requires.

  • Check the status of your submission.

  • Do not leave the submission until the final few hours.

  • If you are unsure whether your submission has been received, contact RICS directly to confirm.

Your submission is ultimately your responsibility

As a candidate, it is important to recognise that there is a distinction between professional support and responsibility for your assessment submission.

A supervisor, counsellor, mentor or assessor can help you prepare, and review your work. However, they cannot take responsibility for completing or submitting your assessment on your behalf. We cannot see or complete the submission stages within your RICS Assessment Platform for you. Therefore, candidates need to take responsibility for checking their own platform and ensuring that all required steps have been completed.

RICS may also change or update the assessment process, so candidates should rely on the information displayed on their own Assessment Platform and the latest RICS guidance rather than relying solely on previous assessment cycles or advice from others.

Preparation does not stop at the submission deadline

Good AssocRICS preparation is not simply about having the right documents ready.

It is also about understanding the assessment process, deadlines and responsibilities, and making sure that your submission is complete and ready for assessment.

If you are preparing for an AssocRICS assessment and would like professional support, we offer support that can include submission reviews and mentorship, also counsellor support. If we have not worked together before, you can also request a free 30-minute conversation to discuss where you are with your assessment and what support you may need.

If you are planning to submit for a future RICS assessment, it is worth starting the preparation early. The closer you get to the deadline, the more important it becomes to make sure that your documentation, competencies and submission are all in order.
